Summer Events

Thanks to the hard work of our members and the support of our donors, BHPS offers a number of fun and informative community events each summer. Here are some of the events we’ll be sponsoring in summer 2026.

Wednesday, July 22

Megan Pinette, President of the Belfast Historical Society, will lead a discussion on the bold stand taken by the people of Belfast to support liberty during the American Revolution.

Tuesday, August 4
The 8th annual Collectors’ Day returns to the Community Hall on August 4. Bayside residents and visitors–of all ages–are invited to share their collections with the community at what is always a fun, interesting, and sometimes curious event.

Tuesday, August 4

In keeping with the theme of Collector’s Day, Megan Pinette of the Belfast Historical Society will return to explore the many and varied items made in Belfast during the last 250 years.

Wednesday, August 5, 7-10pm

BHPS and Bayside Arts will once again co-sponsor the always popular Dancing Under the Stars! Join your friends and neighbors, young and old, on the basketball court for a night of good tunes and impressive dance moves.

Sundays, July-August
Shady Grove, the BHPS Cottage Museum, on Pleasant Street, welcomes visitors every Sunday from 2-4pm.

All Summer!
Throughout the summer of 2026, BHPS will host an exhibit on the many ways cottages in the village have moved. Many have been jacked up for purposes of renovation or repair. Others have been picked up and moved, sometimes a few feet and sometimes down the street, around the corner, and up a hill. Come see for yourself. The exhibit will be on display throughout the summer in the Meeting Room on the lower level of the Community Hall.
